Our experience on Crane Design
We have delivered a large number of Gantry Crane and Bridge Crane stress analysis and optimizing solutions.
These Cranes were designed for severe loading conditions (rough deepsea environment).
Specifically the loads other than normal selfweight and SWL(safe working load) has included horizontal accelerations up to 0.6g (60% of selfweight+SWL in any horiz direction) and windload up to 64m/s (230km/h or 140mph).
As these structures are allways tailor-made equipments, we are normally checking all details based on adequate standard. Throughout the whole process, we give continous feedback on the structural quality of the solutions, and if necessary providing options for reinforcement. Therefore the final Crane design is allways meeting client’s expectations both structurally and in cost efficiency.
Crane Design Details
The crane is a hydraulically operated gantry type crane, which travels on rails in the fwd/aft direction. It is designed to handle tubulars from the storage area on the pipedeck to the horizontal pipehandling system which conveys tubulars onto the drillfloor. The main beam is rigidly fixed to an A-frame leg in one end. The other end is pinned to an A-leg. Each leg is resting on a crane drive assembly (carriage). The crane drive assembly includes wheels, side rollers, rack pinion drive and anti-lift arrangements.more ...
